On Clash of Clans when I'm not on line why don''t my troops fight the attacking force, when I attack someone there troops fight back.?

Troops can not fight back in Clash of clans. It is a really bad system in my personal opinion, but hey they like it. The troops that are fighting you back are probably coming out of the clan castle. I don t know how familiar you are with the game, but when you join a clan your fellow clan members can donate a certain amount of troops to you based on the level of your clan castle. any troops in your clan castle while you get attacked will fight back for you. That is the only possible way that troops are helping in defense. Hope this helps bud.

Oh, ok, I noticed my Archers on the Towers do, I kept leaving Giants thinking they would fight of most enemies, where do I find which troops will defend (how stupid is it that Giants wont defend :-( and a waste of my elixir seems I didn't realize that, Biggest problem I have is I only have a small screen android, thinking of getting a tablet as I have had problems finding a free emulator that works on my pc, so far only Bluestacks does and that comes at a cost.

Only troops in the clan castle defend the base. Those are the troops donated to you from your clan - not troops you made yourself
