Running help?

I'm trying to qualify for a certain track meet. You have to run a certain time in a certain event to go. For example, if you run a 400m in 68 seconds and then you get to go to that meet to only run the 400m. What event should I go for?

-400m (quarter mile), where me personal best is 77.7 seconds, and I must get 68 seconds to qualify

-800m (half mile), where me personal best is 2 minutes, 58 seconds, and I must get 2:38 to qualify

-1600m (full mile), where me personal best is 6:25 minutes, and I must get 6 minutes seconds to qualify

Or

-3000m (almost 2 miles), where me personal best is 13:54 seconds, and I must get 13:20 to qualify

I only need to qualify for one race, and I only need to run the qualifying time once. Which one should Itry to qualify in?

I think you should go for the 1600 meters because that's one of the easiest to knock your time down!! I run 1500 meters and one of the best runners in my country (my country is quite small) and I know what your going through! Just don't give up near to the end and try your best!

I've got a tip to improve your times! Basically, fast runners do not put one foot in front of the other any faster than slower runners. They simply get more power, length stride length and explosion in each step. My conclusion is leg strength and technique would be what you can focus on improving on to run faster.
