Is the "trickle down" method leading the USA to a 3rd world economic status?

Update:

EDIT: I am leaving welfare and assistance programs out of this question because 1-they are very broken systems. 2-I am meaning more along the lines of giving tax breaks to corporations and super wealthy and paying grunt workers bare minimum.

What makes you think we are employing the "trickle down" method in the first place? We have a progressive tax rate, and the rich shoulder roughly 80% of the tax burden. We also have the highest effective (not marginal) corporate tax rate in the world. Which part of that coincides with trickle down theory?

But here is something to consider. The Bush tax cuts were enacted in 2003, when unemployment was over 6%. Within four years, unemployment had dropped to 4.4% and federal tax revenue had increased by $3.9 trillion. That tells us that we are still on the wrong side of the Laffer Curve. And instead of lowering the top marginal tax rate and the corporate tax rate, Democrats raised the top marginal rate and almost doubled the capital gains rate.

BTW - We have a fractional banking system and a budget deficit. Every dollar that the government takes from you in taxes is removing up to $10 from the economy, and it is being used to pay a debt that would exist whether the government taxed you or not. So the idea that we need to raise taxes for some inexplicable reason to stimulate economic growth is complete and utter nonsense.

Yes- the "trickle down" method leading the USA to a 3rd world economic status-

The government refuses to fund the people.

No. It's the only economic plan that works. It allows people who want to work hard to succeed no matter who they are.

It's when you steal from those who work hard in order to give an equal (and often better) lifestyle to the lazy that the economy collapses. Why should someone sacrifice 40 - 50 hours a week of their life working when you can have the same or more by collecting a hand-out and doing what you want every single minute of every single day?

Exactly how does that inspire anyone to earn their own way?

Yes and it's actually the plan.

Gross inequality is a staple of 3rd word countries. The real architects of trickle down don't really care about prosperity. It's all about power, and wanting it all in the hands of the aristocracy.

Trickle down made me a wealthy person. What did you do wrong?

A large percent of my taxes trickles down to those who would spit on me and our country.

If you remove the incentive to risk capital, then people will risk their capital in other countries. If capital is not risked, then companies do not have a need for workers. Full employment is a by-product of capitalism.
