How do I get hair back to normal after perm?

I am 19 years old male, I got my hair permed to have a "fro" for about 3-4 months and now that I cut it, it doesnt grow back or feel the same like it used to? How do I get it back to normal? Someone told me to cut it really short and keep conditioning it every day, this true before I cut all my hair lol?

It just needs to grow out, which happens in time. A permanent only affects the hair that is permed -- it will not change your hair for good. Your hair texture is determined by your genetics. If your hair is too dry or frizzy, rub a TINY (like 1/2 green pea) bit of coconut oil on your palms until it pretty much disappears, then run your hands through your hair. That should settle it down some and shine it up a bit.

You have to clean cut it if u want results fast. Or just bear its texture and condition it and let it grow out.

The hair that's permed is still present in your head that why it feels different. The perm doesn't effect ur natural hair texture that grows from your scalp.

Your natural hair will not be effected, that has to do with genetics. It will come back in. No perm can change genetics.

It like when ppl with curly hair straighten it with a relaxer, it ruins the curl pattern. They literally have to let the relaxer grow out or chop all their relaxed hair off in order to see their natural hair pattern. Chopping it off yeilds faster results. Letting it grow out "transitioning" takes longer for results to show.
