Does the "quality" of a primary school matter?

Update:

Here in the UK, I've heard crazy things like parents moving home to make sure the child gets into a really good primary school. I think this is ludicrous but nobody seems to agree!

Personally i think, if you're going to do well in school, you'll do well no matter what school you go to and vice versa.

What do ye think?

    No not really.

If the school is atrocious then it can have some impact, but generally it does not really matter.

I know loads of people who went to really bad primary schools and no go to grammar secondary schools.

Depends. If the quality of teaching is poor, and the quality of the resources and help given is poor, then yes.

However, if people are moving because their local primary school doesn't have all the latest computers and a fountain outside every window, then I agree with you.
