    It contains liquid paste chemical as its insulation, so that a small size capacitor has very large capacitance can be made, but it ends up has polarity between two poles. As wrong polarity power source applies to its poles, insulation becomes breaking down and heats up even explore. that is why a negative sign is marked on one lead as a warning to user.
