I try not to care, but I do, and it hurts. The clouds are shedding tears as I do so. I will cry in the rain as I walk back home, and avoid the pain. Seems like I'm not the only one who's crying today. I wonder what makes the weather so ashy and gray.

I stood with my toes on the line, just as the rain began to fall. I shook my head and kept my eyes peeled, awaiting the gun. Thunder drowned out the sound of the starter and we looked at each other, eyebrows raised. "Race is off!" called the official, waving his arms like a mad man. We trudged back inside, soaked from head to toe, unable to have our shot at glory.
