Would the IRS make them pay a fine or something for claiming me on their taxes eventhough I did my taxes refund?

You can file, just don't claim yourself. If your income is low enough you will still receive a refund if you over paid.

If they meet the rules to claim you, you can still file but can't claim yourself. If you try, YOU are the one who has to redo things and pay money back if you got some you aren't entitled to. It would delay their refund while it's sorted out.

if they are eligible to claim you you cannot claim yourself on your own tax return, you have to indicate that you can be claimed by someone else
only those eligible to claim you are able to do so
you are the one who could be penalized for submitting an incorrect tax return

Either you claim yourself, or your parents claim you. It will pop out immediately to the IRS, and you'll both get letters to fix it.

You can file even if claimed by parents, as long as you properly report your status. If you claimed yourself as a dependent on your return an adult does, one of your 2 returns would be rejected for conflicting use if your SS#.
