Why are Christians always the first to resort to insults, threats and hate language?

Because that's all a person has when they have no arguments and they know they're in a corner. Think about it. That's how they justify not answering certain troubling questions and ward off doubt.

  • The question is based on a false premise. It is not true that Christians are always the first to resort to such things. In a hotel dining room in California a few years ago a Jewish man suddenly began loudly insulting Christians. A somewhat chubby 20-30 year old said, calmly and authoritatively, "I am a Christian, sir, and I must take exception to your statements." The Jew said "what kind of Christian are you?" As some of us are aware, Jewish mythology holds that there are only "Jesus Jumpers" and "Bible Thumpers." "I am a Quaker, sir," she replied. At that point he shut up.

Insults and hate language are built into the Askanazi Jewish language called "Yiddish." For example, we have the word "shiksa." I came across a young Jewish man's short story online one day and his protagonist was objecting to someone coming into a Jewish deli "with such an obvious shiksa." I had to look the word up. It is Yiddish. The root of the word means "abomination." The term is applied equally to Christian women or prostitutes. There you go: an insult and hate language rolled into one word. I was still unable to visualize this character in the story. Would it be a woman wearing a very short skirt, fishnet nylons and a cross around her neck?

There is an issue with the Jewish interpretations of the Ninth Commandment. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." A Jew told me that all this means is that if a person is subpoenaed as a witness in a civil lawsuit between two Jews in a rabbinical court of the State of Israel that he obligated to tell the truth, and otherwise now. Other Jews have said that the Ten Commandments only apply to dealings with other Jews. Members of the Ku Klux Klan who are referred to as "British Israelites" assert that they only apply to dealings between Israelites and other Israelites and that all of the missing tribes of Israel wound up in Denmark and England where they were the ancestors of the Saxons (Isaac's sons) and that the Jews, having rejected the Messiah, are no longer Israelites and not subject to the protections of the commandments.

    .

For Protestants raised with Martin Luther's interpretation of this commandment, which a particular rabbi once told me was really wonderful, this kind of Jewish interpretation has led to the set phrase "lying Jew." The rabbi thought that the Lubavich Hassidim might have a similar interpretation to Luther's but he was not sure.

So, no, the Christians are not always the first. Apart from the Jews, I have heard a few insults coming from militant atheists. Of course, some self-proclaimed Jews are non-semitic atheists. A Jewish scholar named Arthur Koestler pointed this out a long time ago, and recent DNA tests have proven that he was largely correct.

I resort to a calm and rational discussion. Insults get us no where.

LOL, You are kidding right? I am a deist and have debated against both atheists and theists. I have been called an idiot, insane and delusional by more atheists than I can count.

Not that Christians are any better, as they are not. Neither are deists any better. But you are currently throwing stones in a glass house.

Since you say, so. Maybe we do and maybe we don't, I know for a fact we are not always the first, because it is not the truth.

So what? If we were perfect you would accept us and join us, eh. Fortunately for me and other Christians Christianity accepts assholes.

Not always. And when they do you have the choice to ignore them.
