Skin problem?!?
Hello!
For a while, I've noticed my face has been looking dull and kind of dirty. I do wash my face twice daily and use toner and moisturizer, but it doesn't do much good. A few days ago, I got a pumice stone to exfoliate my face and it worked, my skin looked much better, but I used it on my chin and now it's really red, irritated, flaky and sore. The rest of my face is alright. But yesterday, after the second time I used it, my face broke out and now I've ugly red acne on my cheeks and forehead. And my face isn't really prone to acne like this, just pores and pimples that aren't inflamed.
So... my questions are:
1. Is the pumice stone the cause of my acne and should I stop using it?
2. What will make my chin better?
3. What do you recommend I should do with my dull skin and pores? I've combination skin if that helps.
Thank you!! :3

Here's a quote that I guarantee will help your acne and your skin health in general. "Too much of a good thing is a bad thing" What does this mean? It means that using products to moisturize/exfoliate your face CAN be a good thing. However, using these products in excess can irritate the skin, and can actually be the cause of breakouts. From the sound of it, that's why you broke out. To answer your questions...
1. As I said, it's probably a combination of the products you used and the duration in which you used them. However, a pumice stone is extremely irritating to your skin, and I wouldn't recommend using it at all.
2. Continue to wash your face on a regular basis, at least two-three times a day. Clean your washcloth every week and avoid using dirty towels on acne prone skin. And, I can not stress this enough, DO NOT TRY TO POP YOUR PIMPLES OR TOUCH YOUR FACE WITH DIRTY HANDS!
3. Moisturizing daily will definitely help, but I'd cut back on the toner. If you would like to keep using toner, ensure that it's an alcohol free toner, as the opposite will irritate your skin. Practice the things I mention in step two all the time and I guarantee you'll see improvement in your skin.
I hope this helps!
