What effect has the internet exposition of Jehovah's Witness false doctrine / failed prophecies had on their attendance and recruitment?

I think it has had a good impact. I've seen many people start to research and read, people that were originally interested in that religion, and then turn away and want nothing to do with it after finding out the real truth. That's always a good thing. If you can keep someone from going down that awful path and prevent it before it happens, that makes it worth it. There may not be much you can do for the ones already indoctrinated, God will have to take care of that, but information on the Internet can help to stop people from getting involved in the first place. Pointing people to the real Christ and real salvation or warning people about all the hidden dangers of getting involved is much better than just sitting around and letting them continue to spread their heresy. The Internet is the number one reason the Watchtower society is failing, thankfully. It will prevent even more people from being harmed - physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Fact is, most of what people think is false is actually true. What failed prophesies do you even mean? The internet has done not much to really expose or bring into exposition of anything other than the past. The effect has been little to none as statistics would show, even in America.
John 15:18 states the world should hate Jesus' followers. In my time, I have not seen any more controversy between the witnesses and Christians than any other religion. I can honestly say, even if charts may say otherwise, witnesses are among the most hated. That means we are doing something right.
but the internet itself is not a reliable source. Sites that are opinionated and focused only on negatives and not positives are all over, specially about the witnesses. What the internet has shown me is that people are judgmental, spiteful and uncaring. It has shown me that people will take any information, big or small and use it against another person in an unfair manner. The internet has not exposed anything to me, before and after I became a witness.

One of the biggest debacles that altered the trajectory of their growth was when they changed the interpretation of the 1914 doctrine in 1995. When they realized they were wrong yet again, they changed that interpretation into a murky soup of deception. Obviously a product of the legal department. Just look at the numbers leading up to that point and then afterward. There was a definite slowing of the growth. The growth trajectory changed at that point and never recovered. It's amazing how they can continue to deceive people but there are always new people coming along so I guess it's understandable.

Looks like anonymous (Terry) blocked me, after recognizing him. No doubt he blocked me first, and then said something in return or rebuttal to make it appear I had no reply. WEAK. I have no blocks Terry.
Seems many are waking up due to the info on the net. Yet the admitted uninspired imperfect GB have scared inspired so many into believing the internet is wholly the work of Satanic forces, all out to ensnare the poor JW's, many do not attempt to actually test their faith.

It just helped confirm the people I decided to have a bible study with were in fact members of what I felt was a cult. I had a hard time letting that one go until I finally did the research.
You know that feeling you get when you realize you were right the whole entire time- yeah so thanks internet.
I would have never known about the lawsuits. In fact a typo on google caused a news report to pop up.

First of all you need to get your facts straight.......NO ONE has made any prophecies, let me inform you that there is a HUGE difference between making a prophecy and trying to INTERPRET prophecy !!
The prophecies are already there in Gods word the Bible if you care to read them, trying to interpret them is NOT the same as uttering a prophecy !
And FYI JW's are among the fasted growing in many parts of the world, over 1.2 million bible studies conducted in Mexico alone.........over 3 new congregation being formed in the USA each week ! How many new congregations does YOUR church set up each week ??
So now that you have finished your little rant maybe you might want to think about doing something constructive with your life like trying to save the 1,000s in your area who are athiesest and do not believe rather than trying to pull others down with information that is INCORRECT and on many occasions not far off outright lies !
If you really want to know about JW's then get it from the source at www.JW.org.........now the most translated website in the WORLD !

You are only helping weed out those with little faith.
In other words, you're helping.

We can all pray who are Christians that they cannot deceive others into a disbelief in Christ, the efficacy of His atoning sacrifice and the Gospel. God bless!
