My partner and I want to start a family at some point however he had had a vasectomy ..... I'm just wondering if the reversal success rate is high or if anyone has had it done

Forget about reversals. It's not worth it. The success rate is low, there's a lot of false publicity of doctors eager to do the operation on you and promising instant pregnancies... Especially if the vasectomy is already a bit older, e.g. 10 years or more, the success rates are very low. Much better, and easier, is the 'sperm aspiration' method, here a doctor removes sperm cells directly from his testicles with a long needle, this sperm can be used for ICSI / IVF. Depending on your medical coverage you might have some of these cycles paid for, and at most need to pay for the aspiration treatment only, which will be in the end much cheaper and has a much higher success rate. Additional advantage, your hubby does not need another vasectomy after the pregnancy, you can repeat the aspiration process again for another child of wished for.
