I wouldn't bother with salt. The amount of salt that is needed to kill ick is quite high, too high for goldfish to be comforatble.
I recommend either heating the tank to 86 degrees without salt or using medication.
A little salt around 1 teaspoon per gallon won't hurt anything but any more than that might not be a good idea.

Once and add a heater.
Leave the heater in for a few weeks, until you are absolutely sure that the ick is gone.
