What is the difference between open ended and closed ended MF?

    Open end shares are sold on the market and anyone can buy/sell.

    Closed end shares can only be sold back in the fund

    Open end funds have a set number of shares that market trade at a premium or discount to their NAV. Not entirely unlike ETFs.

    "Traditional" closed end funds are those where you buy and redeem shares directly from the fund company.

    There's tons of info on the internet regarding this.
