How to fix this exhaust pipe?

Question

As you can see in the pic, the pipe broken off just after the "connection plate" behind the cat and before resonator. It's a 2001 Solara SLE. Everything down there is so rusted, I don't know if I can even take off the rusty plate that connects to the plate of the cat and the broken pipe seems to diminish little by little. Any easy fix for this? Or do I have to get a new piece of pipe and weld it? And yes, the car is loud as hell especially between 1900-2500 rpm.

Is this another case of "mechanophobia" or another case of a kid with a car but no money or just a person whom "enjoys" pretending to be a car mechanic  as in a delusional state? It is amazing what a license to drive and a car title do to people. A 15 year old vehicle with a rusted exhaust system. OMG, stop the presses, this is news!  The "easy fix" is all of the evidence I need. Key word: rust. Second key word: pipe. Rusted pipes. What would you guess is the "fix?" Come on. You can do this without the texting via the smartphone.

You may be able to wield it. But that flange is made on the rear pipe. And you may have to replace it all the way to the muffler. Or take it to a good local mom and pop muffler shop and have them see how much needs replaced to do a satisfactory fix.

I think the difficulty will be finding a new piece of pipe that matches the original. If there is no thickness left in the break due to rust it can't be welded. Buy a new section.

I think that the rusty pieces should be replaced. Patching old exhaust parts rarely works.
