    Their real intention is to become a saint, monk or ascetic. They somehow want to get spiritual emancipation. You cannot stop their enthusiasm, if they have that kind of strong will-power, bull-dog determination, indomitable courage and mental conviction, it is considered their asset.

    They are probably referring to having a relationship with someone. Something they could never have with a family member or friend.
