Why do girls who know they are attractive ask the question? It's beyond vanity to me.?

Who says they are actually attractive? Most girls I see posting that have a ton of makeup on. If you didn't know, makeup can make even the ugliest of girls pretty. So in reality they are ugly, they put on the makeup, ask if they are pretty, get some yes answers, so it makes them less insecure about their uglieness.
