car rattling, spark plugs?

a couple weeks ago my engine started making a rattling noise and felt like my engine was about to explode (check engine light went on), i took it to the shop and they said it was due to bad spark plugs so they changed them. present day my car recently started making the rattling noise again but it only happens while im at a complete stop and never rattles while im moving. check engine light is not on, any ideas what causes this, could it be the spark plugs or wires?

If the code was for misfires (you failed to give us the code number) and the spark plugs were changed with the correct brand of spark plug (you don't give us any info about your vehicle) it's not the spark plugs because they were replaced which is the first thing a mechanic should try. Then it could be the coil/coils a bad injector, a vacuum leak or the IAC motor not adjusting the idle speed.

I don't know too much, but if it only does it when it's stopped it could signify an idling problem. The mechanic shop should have been able to fix your car. They have plenty of tools and experience to be able to identify problems pretty quickly and were most likely just telling you it was something else so you'd go back and pay them money.

take the vehicle back to the shop that changed the spark plugs and have them inspect it.........could be anything from a loose heat shield, a motor mount, ignition timing, or 100 other possibilities
