*facepalm* They are NOT allowed in school. The people are breaking the law to bring the guns to school. It should shock exactly nobody that a person intent on shooting someone at school is not going to be deterred by a no guns at school rule.

Indeed, some people have pointed out that these mass shooting are most common in places where one can be confident there will be no guns to compete with the shooter such as schools, or installations that prevent firearms from being taken inside such as schools

They aren't, the people who did that simply ignored the law. This is why we need armed guards in schools, when the only person with a gun is the one person trying to hurt everyone it will always end bad.

Most schools do not allow firearms, that is why we have so many school shooting, these crazy liberal that want to kill a lot of people chose "Gun Free Zones" like Columbine, Sandy Hook, and the Cinema in Aurora Colorado. Honest law abiding people are not allowed by law to carry in these gun free zones, so these crazies knows they can shoot as many people as they want with no one with anyway to stop them, because the honest law abiding people do not bring their firearms into these gun free zones. The only thing to stop a bad guy with a gun that is out to kill people, is a good guy with a gun, and the good guy had to leave his gun out of the gun free zone.

The strange thing about it, is the school that Obama's children go to have many armed guards, and no mass shooting or accidental shooting, but he feels other schools would have an accidental shooting every day making guns in other schools just to dangerous. Just the liberal stupid way of thinking.

Some collages have began to allow concealed carry in class, and rape has declined significantly in these collages, and their has been no illegal shooting in these collages. That in itself speaks volumes about law abiding people carrying concealed firearms.

Whether it be in schools or on the street in a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm.

When I carry a firearm, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The firearm is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an 85 year old lady as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation, and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

School is a place for learning. Firearms safety should be taught, and the place to do it is a school

Many schools have a rifle team. Marksmanship and the shooting sports can be enjoyed by all ages
