how many pushups are you expected to do at marines basic training?

what about running how many miles too

    You're pretty much expected to do as much P.T. as the D.I.s tell you to do.

    No pushups.

    You are expected to do pull-ups. At a minium 3 pull-ups (you'll get targeted hard if you can't do 10) and for the best score 20. As for running if you can run 3 miles in under 25 minutes you'll be fine. You'll never run more then three miles.

    You push until you are told to stop. Outside of normal PT, you will be I.T.'d every day (if your DIs are doing their jobs correctly) and will have to perform push ups, mountain climbers, crunches, running in place and rifle PT for a specified amount of time. If you are able to do 50 consecutive push ups, that is a good starting point for recruit training.
