    firstly this question is malformed.

marriage, monogamy, morality are not subjects that require belief of disbelief, they are simply vocabulary tools, words describing a subject, process or event, whether the event occurs or not, belief or disbelief has no authority over the reality of the occurrence,

however one may disagree on the value or importance of such practices, to agree or not is entirely preferential, no person can be classified as mentally ill or not simply by their cultural preference

whether this question has honest intent for informative answers or not does not effect the answer, but i warn you, beyond this point it is entirely up to you ive you are offended,

note to be offended first requires insecurity, if someone has an ulterior opinion to you but their opinion makes you uncomfortable, you are the one with discomfort, and to be offended is your'e own pettiness

you are mentally ill for the act of believing, belief is self deception, a bias that brings people fictional security, therefore i conclude you to most likely be mentally ill, if this question is so an honest one, then your'e insecurities show, by asking whether certain beliefs define mental stability i assume that you must also believe

by believing, one accepts only one answer or statement as ultimate truth, whether it is true or not, to believe is to deny possibility of another answer - therefore belief is denial - denial is mental instability = all who believe are mentally ill

however one may exist without the use of believe, "assumption":assumption requires prior information one assumes the ground is there and thus one walks along the ground, but one cannot know how correct this information is, after all, all information received by the brain is information from their sensory perception, sight, touch, smell etc, that information is then processed by the brain and formed into a perspective, one can never truly claim that spirit exists because everything you've experienced is in your'e head, instead all you can do is trust in the world around you trust your senses and trust the senses of others

    -------------------------

finally my opinion on the matter, marriage is a union formed by the ancient act of human trade, when once a father would trade his daughter for a camel, marriage is a fictional bond that brings two together in the ideal of loyalty and faithfulness, marriage imo is an archaic practice, and only used by those with weak relationships who require fictional binding to keep them together, marriage is a contract, all contracts are illegitimate

No, they just have their own opinion. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, popular or not.
