Lenovo Monitor Frequently Flashing & Showing "Optimizing Image... Please Wait" ?

Hi, my Lenovo 19 computer monitor having problem from last 2-3 days. Its flashing on-off frequently (about 3-4 times per minute). When it does so, it also tries to make image adjustments showing on screen dialogue "Optimizing Image... Please Wait". Also, sometimes, it suddenly stops doing that for as long time as half an hour. But after which it starts again frequently. It never happened before.

What would be causing this? Can anyone help me out?

    Check the connections, the power cable might be loose.
