Running on Win-XP 32Bit, 4GB RAM, Good Intel Video/Graphic Card, Total 2TB HDD (with empty space about 600 GB).

My PC was absolutely fine couple of weeks ago. But now there's some problem while playing videos (movies, etc. saved on HDD). Videos are very slow, disturbed, choppy. Audio is very smooth.

Couple of weeks ago, I was auto alerted about updates for Java 8. So I went for it. While installing, it flashed msg that "there could be problem to my system as this version of Java not compatible with my PC configuration. However, I can install & run programs on it." I installed the same. Still immediately after installation, my system was running smoothly with HD videos. After may be another couple of days, problems starts to appear with videos.

So I ran tests for virus with antivirus, re-installed drivers for graphic card, but problem didn't vanish. What could've happened? What do I do now?

Are these symptome of my HDD failing? I don't think so coz all my other system functions/tasks are very smooth & fast as they were earlier. Problem is only with videos. Please guide me. Thanks in advance.

Im having good configuration PC. All videos including 720p & 1080p were all running smoothly on my PC. These are not streaming videos. I use MPC-HC & VLC.

Couple of days before when I was online, I had updation alert for Java, so I went for it. During installation, it again alerted me that Java is for Win 8 & above but I can go ahead with it. Along with that Java package, chromium (similar to chrome browser) was installed.

After that, my PC & internet slowed down. So I tried to uninstall chromium. But each time I reboot, I was seeing chromium asking me something at startup. My default search engines in chrome & firefox too changed (maybe to "palkan" or something similar). My offline videos (low & high definition) were started running choppy. Noted that audio in those video files was very fine. Tried playing MP3s but they were too fine. Just videos I was playing on MPC-HC & VLC was choppy. Higher the video file size & definition, the more choppier they were. Windows startup was very normal & fast as it was before. But as I plugin internet modem, windows would slow down. But videos are choppy even if I did or not plugin my modem. Somehow managed to forcefully uninstalling of chromium using "uninstaller" & also deleted all related files in "program files" & desktop icon. But that did not work for slower videos.

How spacecraft know that it has traveled one mile, for ex. & how much is its current speed?

My question is kinda complicated one. So please bear with me. My understanding may be wrong. Here's the question in brief:

As per BBT, we know that the universe is about 13.8 billion years old. But, sciencists also claim that our home galaxy, the Milky-Way, is about 13.6 billion years old [http://www.universetoday.com/21822/age-of-the-milk...

The universe is balooned (inflated) or expanded after event BB & suppose our Milky-Way is nearly sitting on the edge or on cosmological wavefront of expanding universe (as Milky-Way is 13.6 billion years old). And the most distant protogalaxy "UDFj-39546284" which is about 13.37 billion ly away, must be at the heart of the BB, should be newly born object.

Then why scientists say that this most distant object (protogalaxy UDFj-39546284) is the oldest one ? It should be youngest one, just born. Please explain in detail. Thanks.

Hi, my Lenovo 19 computer monitor having problem from last 2-3 days. Its flashing on-off frequently (about 3-4 times per minute). When it does so, it also tries to make image adjustments showing on screen dialogue "Optimizing Image... Please Wait". Also, sometimes, it suddenly stops doing that for as long time as half an hour. But after which it starts again frequently. It never happened before.

What would be causing this? Can anyone help me out?

Why NASA & other capable space agencies like ESO don't make their base on Moon (Lunar Surface) instead of floating between nowhere - onboard the International Space Station?

I think they still could do the routine tasks & research/observation as they do onboard ISS. They can build research facility on Moon? Also they can observe the Earth from there. So don't you think it'd be more comfortable for astronauts as they will be living on some kinda base (ground)?

First, keep in mind that I'm just asking this question outta curiosity & nothing to do with real life. I just want to know. I'm gonna face some interviews & someone said you could face such a questions that what would you do as the responsible officer.

Question is: What would happen if a person who borrowed a personal loan from a bank & has outstanding amount on multiple credit cards and he committed a suicide due to frustration? What would be the bank's action in such a scenario?

Hi, I want to check for match exact values in column B with relation to column A. I mean I have huge data in both columns. Suppose that A has Invoice Nos & B has Invoice Values. Invoice Nos in "A" can be repeat for multiple times throughout "A". But Invoice Value for particular Invoice No should be same in "B". I mean each Invoice No. must hold same Invoice Value. But its huge data & there are thousands of Invoices & lines. How this can be done without any doubt of accuracy ?

Here on Earth it's yellowish but in space it's white. But on Mars with atmosphere the sunlight is bluish. Why?

I mean the most important scientific instrument ever built - the Hubble Space Telescope - we need to save it from its sad & bad demise. We should not let HST just burn-up on high altitude while its re-entry after many years from its replacement by James Webb Telescope. I think we should preserve HST here on Earth as it is today out in space, say in some kinda "Hubble Space Telescope Museum".

What do you guys think & is it really possible to bring such a heavy HST back to Earth safely without a minute damage ?

I really wonder, there are estimated about 300-400 billion stars in Milky-Way. So out of them, exactly how many stars astronomers have cataloged till date ?
