Can the devil be where God is? A Pastor insists that the devil has to flee...that he CANT be there? Where is this in the Bible?

I cannot find this or anything to this effect in the Bible... The only thing I find is what fellowship does light have with darkness and does Christ have with belial. And draw near to God and God will draw near to you. And resist the devil and he will flee. And satan accuses the saints before the throne of God. .... But I cannot find any Scripture to support this Pastor's claim... Is it false doctrine?

Your pastor is using something of a poetic interpretation. God is light, Satan is darkness. The darkness "flees" when light is present. You can't have darkness in the presence of light.

Pretend your lamp is god. In the middle of the night when it is pitch black, turn "god" on, and the darkness flees.

    This was spoken to Christians

4 What is the source of the wars and fights among you? Do they not originate from your fleshly desires that carry on a conflict within you?*+ 2 You desire, and yet you do not have. You go on murdering and coveting, and yet you are not able to obtain. You go on fighting and waging war.+ You do not have because of your not asking. 3 When you do ask, you do not receive because you are asking for a wrong purpose, so that you may spend it on your fleshly desires.

4 Adulteresses,* do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is making himself an enemy of God.+ 5 Or do you think that for no reason the scripture says: “The spirit that has taken up residence within us keeps enviously longing”?+ 6 However, the undeserved kindness that He gives is greater. So it says: “God opposes the haughty ones,+ but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.”+

7 Therefore, subject yourselves to God;+ but oppose the Devil,+ and he will flee from you.+ 8 Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.+ Cleanse your hands, you sinners,+ and purify your hearts,+ you indecisive ones. 9 Give way to misery and mourn and weep.+ Let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into despair. 10 Humble yourselves in the eyes of Jehovah,*+ and he will exalt you.+

11 Stop speaking against one another, brothers.+ Whoever speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks against law and judges law. Now if you judge law, you are not a doer of law but a judge. 12 There is only one who is Lawgiver and Judge,+ the one who is able to save and to destroy.+ But you, who are you to be judging your neighbor?+

13 Come, now, you who say: “Today or tomorrow we will travel to this city and will spend a year there, and we will do business and make some profit,”+ 14 whereas you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.+ For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears.+ 15 Instead, you should say: “If Jehovah* wills,+ we will live and do this or that.” 16 But now you take pride in your arrogant boasting. All such boasting is wicked. 17 Therefore, if someone knows how to do what is right and yet does not do it, it is a sin for him.+

If this has to do within the congregations, What do you think about secular wars? Christians killing Christians?

    or anyone else

You people remember who James was don't you? He was our Lord's fleshly brother

Ironically, most protestant religions hang on to various traditions that aren't found in scripture. Perhaps the most pervasive tradition is that Scripture is the only source of truth. Where in Sacred Scripture does it say that!? On the contrary, in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 sacred scripture tells us to "stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter." Yes by word of mouth. And, indeed, as far as we can tell from the Bible, Jesus never wrote anything down on paper (though he did write in the sand). He certainly didn't tell His apostles that He would be leaving soon, "so, here, have my book! I call it The Bible!"

Learn the history of the Bible. Learn who compiled it ... and when ... and by whose authority. Were all Christians lost and without any truth for hundreds of years? Or did Jesus actually have a plan for mankind to know Him apart from Scripture alone? You will find that just because something isn't in the Bible, it doesn't mean it isn't truth. Of course, no truth can contradict what is in Sacred Scripture. But there is so much truth revealed to mankind about Jesus, "even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written." Jon 21:25 ... Protestants have abandoned so much of that knowledge. Intimate knowledge that He chose to reveal to us ... the men who started each of these divisions threw that bit of love away while declaring themselves authorities on their own interpretations of the truth. But maybe, just maybe, God had a plan they didn't want to acknowledge.

satan can not stay in one place long where he is with god for a long length of time. satan is roaming the world. he was kicked out of heaven for sinning.

    Revelation 12:7-9Common English Bible (CEB)

    Michael and the dragon

7 Then there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but they did not prevail, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9 So the great dragon was thrown down. The old snake, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, was thrown down to the earth; and his angels were thrown down with him.

God made Satan. And there is no scripture to support any other thing.

Belial is a pagan god, of a different culture than the "stars" of the old testament stories. Belials people had things God wanted for HIS people and so He sent them to war against Belial, whose people were conquered and either converted or died, and without followers, Belial, presumably died. He is not turned into a demon.

You can't find it because it isn't in there.

The whole purpose of this war between good and evil is to be able to legally separate good from evil forevermore, which means they co-exist now.

They teach that the "Great Deceiver" is not that which they serve but if Satin is a great of a deceiver as they preach would not this be the greatest deception of all!
