I am looking to apply for a credit card in order to closed my secured card. Guidance?

Update:

I have a credit score of approximately 708. I applied for a real card with my credit union, but they offered me the same credit limit I have now (750), but for some reason they require a co-signer as I am under 21. For this reason I am not going to accept their offer. I have an income of $1,000 monthly, and I am still a student.

I was looking into the discover it card for students, but am concerned of its acceptance. Does anyone have any recommendations for intro cards?

a credit card --- you buy stuff and get a bill at the end of the month. A debit card is linked to your checking account or savings account and when you buy something it takes the money directly out of the account
