My husband's source of employment was sold...?

His last day of work is the end of June. We will lose our health benefits , we have two teen aged sons. I work less than 20 hours weekly ( its all my bosses give any of us ) What course of action should I take to get health coverage? I am on a med that needs prescribed.

You could continue his work plan (depending on the size of the company....and perhaps the state). Or, if prior to doing that you bought a plan under a special enrollment period, you could do that. You should apply now, and provide evidence of losing coverage as soon as possible. AND, if you're the only one on ongoing meds, you don't all have to necessarily buy the same plan.

Call an insurance broker that does business in your state.

You go to the exchange for your state, indicate that you are losing coverage from your husband's employer, see the list of insurance plans you can buy, pick one, and pay for it.

You can request Cobra Coverage through you current Insurance and pay the premium until you can find a cheaper policy.

COBRA if available, state programs otherwise. Try the exchange or an agent for assistance.
