does mold smell?

if you don't see it, how do you know there is actually mold creating a musty smell?

    Well, it depends on what is causing the mold. If it is water just sitting in places or whatever, it will always create a sort of musty smell. Like, it smells sharp, if that makes sense. Mold has a very distinct smell. You'll know when you smell mold. If it's coming from food, it's a more contained smell. It's always within a small area whereas water mold spreads to far ranges. Always a very distinct smell.

    You bet your buttons it smells. Which is a good thing. I have even had mold on the bottom of my cutting board. Be nice to keep all such stuff away.
