Has my identity been stolen....again?!?

Update:

I am in Texas, I have been here for 6 years.

I just got a letter TODAY from Illinois that i did not report a new job from me or someone in my household. No one in my house was recently hired.

It was sent to me IN TEXAS from ILLINOIS. It states that I must alert them so I can keep receiving benefits.

I don't live in Illinois, how can I get benefits if I don't live there?

Also, it was sent to me under my maiden name. I have never been on welfare, so IDK WTF is going on here!

If you believe your identity has been stolen the first thing to do is to visit your local police department and file a police report. Provide them with the evidence you have that your identity has been stolen. You should also get a copy of your credit report and verify the information it contains. Next thing would be to contact the agency that sent the letter and seek more information. You can provide them with a copy of the police report you filed about the identity theft so they can begin an investigation on their end.

Since this crime has crossed state lines you can involve the FBI Victim Assistance Type in Google Search box.

All you have to do is contact whoever sent you the request and let them know they've got the wrong person.
