Second, ultra-conservative hero President Calvin Coolidge took a hard line against the Boston police force during the city's famous police strike. So the anti-cop mantra is on the conservative and libertarian side. Today's libertarianism is coming more from the '60s and '70s ant-society and anti-government trend, big with hippies and social drop-outs. Liberalism, as you call it, was big with pro-authority and law-and-order types like Lyndon Johnson, the Kennedys, Hubert Humphrey, etc.

We are fine with cops being cops. And the majority of cops are great.
