Is Revis REALLY better than Sherman?
Sherman's stats:
2011- 4 INT
2012- 8 INT
2013- 8 INT
2014- 4 INT
Revis' stats:
2007- 3 INT
2008- 5 INT
2009- 6 INT
2010- 0 INT
2011- 4 INT
2012- 1 INT
2013- 2 INT
2014- 2 INT
Sherman: INT in the NFC Championship that arguably helped save the game, injured for most of NFC Championship and Super Bowl and STILL didn't get thrown at.
Revis: great during the AFC Championship, then allowed Doug Baldwin to get WIDE open in the end zone.
I know everyone says Revis is the best, but news flash, it's not 2011 anymore.
Just to give you idiots a better idea:
Sherman in 2011: 4 INT, 17 PDef, 55 Comb, 47 Total, 8 Asst, 45 Yd
Sherman in 2012: 8 INT, 24 PDef, 1 Sck, 1 TD, 64 Comb, 53 Total, 11 Asst, 57 Yd
Sherman in 2013: 8 INT, 16 PDef, 48 Comb, 38 Total, 10 Asst, 125 Yd
Sherman in 2014: 4 INT, 8 PDef, 57 Comb, 45 Total, 12 Asst, 81 Yd
Sherman career: 24 INT, 65 PDef, 224 Comb, 183 Total, 41 Asst, 1 Sck, 2 TD, 308 Yd
And now Revis.
Revis in 2011: 4 INT, 21 PDef, 52 Comb, 41 Total, 11 Asst, 1 TD, 184 Yd
Revis in 2012: 1 INT, 3 PDef, 11 Comb, 8 Total, 3 Asst, 1 Yd. I give him a pass for this season because he missed about 3/4 of it.
Revis in 2013: 2 INT, 11 PDef, 50 Comb, 43 Total, 7 Asst, 1 Sck, 3 Yd
Revis in 2014: 2 INT, 14 PDef, 47 Comb, 41 Total, 6 Asst, 0 Yd
And because I forgot to add it in the last update...
Revis career 2011-2014 (I'm only using career stats from when both players were in the league): 7 INT, 48 PDef, 160 Comb, 133 Total, 27 Asst, 1 Sck, 1 TD, 188 Yd

I'd take current Revis over current Sherman. Both GREAT, but Revis is smoother to the eye and more fundamentally sound.
I'm not an anlyst (I'm not talking about the fake TV broadcasting kind). I shouldn't be judge of who's greater when it's so close.

Look.
They're both great DBs, among the greatest in the league.
But if you look at Sherman, he only covers the right side of the field while Revis continually shadows the other team's number one receiver. Revis is so feared in the NFL that he doesn't get thrown to often, obviously causing low INT numbers.
Sherman also had the benefit of playing with Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

The irony here is classic.
A Seahawk fan's first line of defense about the great Russell Wilson is that stats aren't the entire story. They say you can't judge him based on the stats. He's great because of, "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, etc."
Now when we're comparing Revis vs. Sherman, we're going to use basic interception, passes defended, and tackle stats.
Can't have it both ways.
My opinion is that Sherman is a premiere corner, but also benefits from playing with two of the best safeties in the league and one of the best coverage MLB's. They all complement each other tremendously. Great group of players.

Yes, Revis made the Jets and Patriots defenses better. Everybody is telling how the Patriots defense won't be the same this year after losing their best player.
The Seahawks defense is already loaded and they are fine without Sherman fully healthy.

LOL! If you're going to bring up the touchdown Revis "gave up" in the Super Bowl then at least have the balls to concede that the ref picked him off! Besides, interceptions is not the only way to determine who was better. For all we know, qbs were more afraid of throwing Revis's direction than Sherman's! You need to include passes thrown their way, passes deflected, etc.

I've got news for you: The guys who have had to cover for Sherman in Seattle's secondary know that he's a media creation whose play doesn't match the hype. Sherman covers just one side of the field -- the same side all the time -- and rarely knocks heads with the other team's best receiver.
But he talks -- long and loudly -- about how good he is and the media bobbleheads buy it. Sherman is nothing but a ghetto rat in All Pro's clothing...thanks to the mindless media.

You are really using INT stats to determine who is a better DB? When QBs usually don't throw at these guys? You should watch football a little bit.
