Are republicans againste immigration because they would have to pay the people they employ a fair salary for a change?
If we allow immigration reform, we would have more legal immigrants. Farmers would need to pay their workers a fair wage, because they arn't afraid of being arrested for being illegal. They can band together and demand a fair wage.
On the other side, democrats are for legal immigration, no so much because of human rights, but because if more legal immigrants form unions, they would have more votes and power.
Both parties pretend to care about laws/people, but all they care about is themselves. Makes me sick.

My parents are both republican. They're very pro immigration, legally. Do you realize how small the percent of farmers is nowadays? Republicans aren't concerned with paying them fair wages, that's a given. They just want orderly control over the influx of immigrants. They want safe documentation and everything done the right way. That also explains why they're pro border security.
Pro immigration and pro border security go hand in hand. Democrats aren't pro security for the most part. They want to let everyone in, documented or not, and that's a ploy for votes. (At least majority of them do.)
So you've got the "humanitarian" Democrat reason and then the capitalist/documented/secure/orderly/whatever Republican reason.
Also, republicans want to monitor it so that we know the exact numbers and can balance that with other immigrants from other countries, like doctors and scientists and other educated people. Does that make sense? They want to keep the US's educated immigrants balanced with the not commonly highly educated Latin American immigrants. That's hard to do with no documentation and weak border security.

Here the part YOU DON'T GET! Republicans don't have a problem with immigration reform, provided illegal immigration is cut off first. Republicans got SCREWED by Democrats promising this back during the Reagan Administration. Never again.

You seem to pretend that Democrats don't hire as many illegals as do Republicans; they do. And, it's the Democrats who prevented e-verify that would put a stop to it.
You claim Democrats are for legal immigration. Yes, they are, but more-so, they are for ILLEGAL immigration, while Republicans are more for limits on legal and NO illegal.
It's only a hot button issue because Democrats DO want to protect their big Union campaign contribution coffers while eliminating any "corporate" contributions, and to advance the lie that voter ID, as used in every other nation, is somehow racist.

Actually the opposite is true. They support immigration in an effort to supress wages.

The migrant worker program that is the primary source of farmers help, wouldn't be changed a bit. Your putting to many separate things in your one big pot.

For the billionth time: We are not against immigration. We are against CRIME, including ILLEGAL immigration. Amnesty multiplies the problem.
