If republicans are for Legal Immigration, why not for immigration reform?

America is NOT full, we are huge compared to our area. More people = more needs = more jobs.

Republicans fully support legal immigration and immigration reform but not amnesty. All the illegals need to leave and their names will be put on a list. Next we will determine how many can come here legally each year and that will solve the problem. Having more uneducated, poor people does not help the economy. It actually weakens what is left of the middle class.

Were that anywhere close to the truth, you'd have a point. It isn't, you don't.

We currently have 90 some million Americans out of work, bringing in more competition for work does not just make more work available.

This whole 'Republicans being against immigration reform' meme is pitifully dishonest. DEMOCRATS are against sensible immigration reform, they have fought against it for decades while ONLY pushing "comprehensive" immigration reform, in other words, doing NOTHING to incrementally improve the system or limit the abuses while wanting to magically do everything at once.

We've plainly seen how multiple thousand page bills like this are nothing but disastrous.

We DO want reform, just NOT the wholesale open borders, ship all our jobs overseas, bring in all the illegal votes you can, sort of dishonest "reform" you Democrats keep trying to push.

There is nothing to reformed, just enforcement. Every year America allows 1 million immigrants to immigrate to America legally.

It's not a matter of being full. Those of european blood, the people that founded this country, is about 220 million. There are about 5 billion 3rd worlders who would move here in 30 seconds if given the chance. We don't want our country wrecked, build the wall, and we need interior enforcement of visa overstays, and immigration in general.

There can be no Amnesty until we stop this insane flow of illegal aliens.

I'm all for immigration reform. Our immigration system is really messed up.

However, what the Democrats and establishment Republicans call "immigration reform" is not reform at all. It is amnesty. We've already had a taste of Obama's amnesty and it has caused illegal immigration to skyrocket.

Because the reforms offered by Bush and then by the Democrats are bad for the US and don't do anything to actually stop or stem the tide of illegal aliens entering the country.

The reforms we want aren't the reforms we're offered from the government so far.

And none of the reforms offered to date have anything to close the border or stop the influx.

And even if the reform has those, we all know that Obama would not enforce anything that stops illegals from coming in here.

1 in 7 Americans are foreign born, I don't think anything needs to be reformed. Immigration is alive and well no matter what anti-Americans say.

    Republicans favor immigration reform.

The people they represent want to stop the uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens first.

Otherwise any move to give legal status to the million of illegals already here will just encourage millions more to come.

Have said and put plans on the table to reform our process, all they have asked was to first. Fix the flood gates or it won't do any good. Libs continue to block the efforts to secure that border yet at the same time. Claim the border is secure.

We are already up to our eyeballs in immigration laws...which Obama won't obey.
