The vast majority of the people are not stupid. A significant number of people are above average intelligence, yet only 2-4% are actual atheists.

As an atheist you pride yourself on facts. The fact is over 50% of atheists are less than 30 years old and the younger a person is the more likely they are to be atheist. Atheism is a middle class/ upper middle class adolescent thing. 68% of atheists are male. The majority of atheists are White. These facts must combine to tell you something. Atheism is likely a farce that you will abandon once you are sufficiently mature enough to see the big picture, because atheism is a perfect example of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

On the other hand, a mature person will assume that his lack of understanding is just that -- HIS deficiency. If you want to bother, go on and disable the automatic weekly clock update, thus programming your computer to rely solely on faith in the operator's knowledge of the correct date.

See if the system crashes immediately with smoke coming out of it. If it *does* do that, you need very badly to buy a new computer system with an entirely different operating system.
