how can I keep my room clean?

My parents bother me ALL the time about it! It is so annoying, how can I keep it clean?

I had the same problem (my room was disgusting as a kid/young teen), and believe me, it didn't go away overnight. What worked for me was to force myself to do one big clean-up, and start with a clean slate. That would take a long time. I'd carefully put everything where I wanted it, from my action figures and books to how I propped my pillows on my bed. Then, everyday, I'd make sure only 1 outfit was lying out at a time. Either it went in the laundry basket, or back in the closet. I'd make my bed every morning (made me feel more in control of my life, it was oddly comforting to come home to a clean bed), and whenever I left the room or went to sleep, I'd make sure everything was put back. It's a daily effort, but you find ways to make it easier, and it becomes habitual, and pretty soon, I realized my room was rarely messy, and I didn't have to spend a whole Saturday organizing. My secret for cementing this habit? Dating. My date would come over to watch a movie, and honestly, I was embarrassed if my date saw that my room was messy. You bet I kept it clean!

Try getting a really large bean bag - then tip all the stuffing away and keep it somewhere handy like under the bed. Then when you need to tidy up just put everything in there zip it up and your done. People will just think you have a weird shaped giant bean bag but a very tidy room! Oh don't let anyone sit on it.

Do a small amount of tidying each day. When you remove something, put it back. Take out the garbage regularly. Make your bed each morning; change sheets about once a week or so. Get some containers to organize things, and they don't have to be spendy, even the $1 store has nice bins and boxes to hold things. Good luck.

Clean it thoroughly one time. After that, spend a few minutes per day straightening up. Once you get it clean, it's easy to maintain. I don't care how "busy" people say they are. I'm sure you can spare 10 minutes before you go to bed to quickly put a few things away.

Put stuff where it belongs when you are through with it!

That is a sign of maturity, or "growing up" and can cause mom and dad to think you are ready for more freedoms!

I would organize everything, get a trash can for your room, get two clothes baskets for dirty clothes one for whites and colors. After you get outta bed make you bed it just makes your room look neater. just some tips

You need to get rid of stuff. If you haven't used it in 3 months pack it away. The less stuff the less mess.

Don't get it messy in the first place is the best way.
