How to get more sleep when you wake up by yourself to early?

I have this problem where I only would sleep about 4 hours a night, so people told me to sleep earlier. I now go to sleep at 10 o' clock and wake up at 2 o clockish. I've tried this for about a month now and still nothing has changed. I've also tried melatonin and all that did was make me wake up groggier. Any tips for longer sleep?

    I've had that in periods of great stress, is anything bothering you? Usually as that gets sorted you're able to sleep more.
