I need help with mosquitos!?

So for the past few weekends we've been out BBQing and spending time outside and I have been eaten alive every single time by mosquitos. We've bought those candles that supposedly keep them away, we've even bought some flowers that are supposed to also keep them away but no matter what we use and how much I spray anti mosquito repellent I still get bitten so much. My wife might get one bite where I'll get 10! I'm thinking it has something to do with my body chemistry because we're all sitting in the same spot. So is there anything out there I can use, drink, eat that will help? Thanks all!
