Help me understand Satan?

I am not trying to be a smarta**, I just don't understand the God/satan relationship.

Satan is a fallen angel and hell was created by God for him, right? But God is clearly more powerful than satan. He must be.

Satan interferes in our lives. There are examples of this in the bible (book of Job). He, in a way, tests our faith. And God knows he is doing it and, in the case of Job, permits it.

God, being all-knowing, must know the results of the outcomes of our encounters with satan.

God could, at any time, command satan to stop without effecting his knowledge that God exists (his free will). This would also help out his creation and also would not effect OUR free will. If satan doesn't listen then...well...it's an all-powerful God, right?

You can use bible verses if you want, but I'd really just like to hear you're opinion on why my logic is faulty. Don't tell me I'm wrong, or that I don't understand anything, just tell me why.

The idea of Satan is part of Jewish and Christian *mythology.* In Judaism, Satan was angel whose job was to test mankind. This is most well illustrated in the Book of Job. Back in ancient times, angels were not Disney characters and butterfly-like, they were warriors who meted out God's justice and whims. The story of Satan's fall from heaven is a Christian interpretation of a Jewish myth about a civil war in heaven which was really a metaphorical story about the Jews clashing with the Babylonians and their king. As Christianity developed, it took certain stories from the Jewish tradition and reinterpreted them--so the serpent in the garden of Eden was interpreted to be Satan instead of a good wisdom deity of Babylonian religion. Satan became associated with the fallen angel described in the Book of Enoch (Lucifer--a reference to the Babylonian king Nebechadnezzar), and Christian authorities began to tell people that if they did not obey them, Satan would get them and torture them in hell. Satan in Christianity is just part of a drama that has a good guy and a bad guy in it.

You have just successfully proven what an absolute JOKE Christianity really is!First,Satan is the ultimate being of evil. Then they admit Satan only tempts you. Then whenever they quote their miserable book of Job to explain why bad things happen to good people, they have to admit Satan had to ASK PERMISSION before god ALLOWED him to destroy Job's life--all because Job was a mere pawn in a BET between god and Satan!Plus other than Job's family,Satan's never really killed anyone. The old testament god on the other hand.........WHO sounds more evil?

Satan does not exist. Satan was created by humans to understand why bad things happen.

Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, beelzelbub, Belial, and several other Sons of God, formed a gang called the Dragon(serpent); the serpent was not a snake. The Devil, whom Jesus called prince of this world, remains closest to earth as main representative of the Dragon.

God gave the Dragon Gang Billions of years to prove themselves with these universes. The results was disastrous until Other Sons placed the sun and some progress(evolution) began millions of years ago.

I can explain these things. Demons are satans workers. They are fallen angels, and in one case they said something interesting to Jesus:

When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes,[a] two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” Matthew 8

Do you notice that the demon said "before the appointed time"? What is that time? it is in the book of Revelation:

10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. revelation 20

So God set a time, an appointed time, where Satan and all the evil spirits and demonic hosts will be thrown into the lake of fire. And Satan is going crazy all over teh world trying to destroy as many people as possible because he knows this too:

But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” Revelation 12

His judgement is final. He can't change it, but he will try to drag as many souls into the lake of fire with him as he can....all he needs to do is deceive the people that God is not real, Jesus is not the savior, etc.

The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Revelation 12

So does Satan have the right to attack anyone anytime? The answer is no.

He has no jurisdiction over those that God chooses to protect. He does not protect those who reject him. They can become Satan's prey anytime. But God's children in Christ are protected:

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Psalm 37

Why is it sometimes that God allows bad things to happen to Christians? because their reward in heaven is great if they die because of his name sake:

0 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. John 15

So what does this all mean to you?

Go to YouTube and watch "23 Minutes in Hell" and understand that Satan is working hard to get you there. As long as you are alive you can change that, once you die it is too late.

Since you don;t know the day or hour you will die, by all means, get saved NOW. Don't play games with Satan.

How to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord?

It is the easiest thing in the world. Just close your eyes, focus on him and pray something like this:

"Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins and I ask you to wash me clean. I am sorry for all the bad things I have done and the many times I broke God's Will. Please forgive me and fill me with the gift of the Holy Spirit. I want to belong to God. I want to be adopted into his family as his child. Come into my heart. I give you control over my life. Please lead me through the Holy Spirit and make your Word real to me. Fill my soul with the peace that surpasses understanding and help me change so that I may lead a life that is pleasing to you. I want to go to heaven and I want to be called by the Fathers name. As of today I declare that I belong to you". Amen

If you do this with all of your heart you will start noticing subtle changes inside of you and step by step your life will change. I am speaking from experience.

Supernatural goodness requires supernatural sin , scientific goodness explains sin , negative thought and action developed with the ability to fantasise about the future leading to imagined fear anxiety and harmful pleasure seeking , the likes of Buddha and Jesus found ways through belief and practice to reduce sin and increase goodness but culture stuffed it up .

search for goodness and string theory

Lucifer was God's lead angel, but when he decided he was more powerful than God, God sent him from Heaven. When Lucifer tried to impersonate God, doing evil, God basically imprisoned him, but loves him and since God is not a killer, and would not destroy Satan, he is capable of influencing creation.
