I'm confused about a guy? Does he like me?

Okay so I've liked this guy for 2 years and my guy friend told me in 9th grade he liked me first semester and 2nd semester and I met him 2nd semester of ninth grade. he would talk to me and he would stare. But my guy friend also told me my crush hated me in 10th grade grade year. In 10th grade he talked about me saying im weird and annoying. But he would also stare at me. And in 11th grade he stared me down and smiled sometimes he glared and he almost tripped up the bleacher stairs trying to stare at me. But he also talked about me badly. I confronted him and he said "im not talking about you i promise." and then one day in class i was doing a project and i had to give out these happy quotes bc my project was on how to be happy. and i gave everyone theirs and i came to my crushes desk and he looked sad and he looked up slowly and slowly took it out of my hand then i went back to my desk and the whole class was comparing theirs with their friends and he was just sitting there staring at the piece of paper for a long time then he put his head down and had it down for the rest of class. so im confused. we are going into our senior year and idk how to feel about this. my guy friend just told me today that my crush liked me in ninth grade. how does my crush really feel? and dont tell me to ask him bc we dont talk. advice? thanks (: xx
