Constipation?

I m 19 year old male, about 2 weeks ago I had diahrea real bad for 4 days and ever since then I haven t been using the bathroom right. Now sometimes it s diahrea and sometimes I m constipated like right now, it had been hard for me to poop the last several days. It s hard and not much comes out. My mom has IBS and she thinks I may have it also. I have been drinking hot prune juice to help me, and taking a stool softener every now and then. What could cause this ?

    Go to a doctor. I never knew I was lactose intolerant until I went to a doctor since I was always sweating and having stomach aches and didnt know what from.
