How well does vinyl plank flooring hold up?

I'm getting ready to remodel my kitchen and dining room, and I want to put something down that's durable, but I want the look of wood. Since the kitchen is pretty high traffic, I don't want to use real wood. How well will the vinyl plank hold up, and how easy is it to keep clean?

My girlfriends vinyl plank flooring is holding p excellent after 3 years and we have 2- 60# ACTIVE labs..Cleans well and easily although , like any vinyl with this many seams you want to take it easy on the amount of water used when mopping. It was an expensive vinyl plank so take that into consideration.

If we could have ( because of her house) I would have preferred ceramic in the wood look. Cost would be comparable..GL

Yes they are a good substitute for wooden floors and very easy to maintain. You can also get tile planks that look like wood, though are a little more expensive.

You should check out the ceramic tile that looks like wood. It is pretty nifty.
