Should I press charges?!?
Today I got in to a fight with my sister, 30, iam 19, she's looney and I just snapped I hit first, but I was arrested, I now have court, but since this happened in my house, and she provoked me and harassed me, can I press charges against her? And if so, should I do this now (9:30pm) or tomorrow?

Violence isn't the answer / people want their way at almost any way so they will bully either physically or play mind games and use words @ i found out that the hard way though I don't think you can do much about it / anyway it doesn't sound like your sister likes you that much otherwise she possibly would not have pressed charges / I would recommend you try talking to a lawyer on the law or you could just stay well away from your sister though I dare say she might come crawling back

You do not have the power to press charges. We - ordinary people cannot press charges. Only the police can do that. They are already involved and they determined at the time that you were the cause - you hit first. It is one thing to argue. It is another thing to get violent and attack her physically. If she was provoking and harassing you, you should have asked her to leave. You have to accept the consequences of your actions. You will end up with a criminal record. I suggest you learn to control your temper and if you think you need to stay away from her for a while, do it.

It's not your decision to press charges. The police investigate, and any charges come from the district attorney.
If the police arrested you, they decided to "press charges" against you, not her.
No, you cannot "press charges."

Legally you were in the wrong and because a women was involved you don't have much ground if your a man.
If you are a women, you may be able to do something legally but once your accused of something, your the accused, she is the victim and I doubt police will side with you.

Nope. If you hit first it's fairly open and shut. If you can prove you feared for your safety or that she in some way attacked you physically before you did then you might have a case but it's a long shot.

Keep in mind that all you've told me is the she provoked you. You've given no details.
Imagine that I walk up to you, and I beat the crap out of you. And when the police come I say, "she provoked me."
