Do you think Republicans, as a whole, want what's best for the country or what's best for corporations and the wealthy?

The Democrats and the Media portray Republicans that way but the vast majority of Republican do want what is best for the country. The problem is they think less government and less welfare state is the right thing to do. They believe too much dependence on government just weakens all of society. The Media doesn't agree with this so they demonize all Republicans.

Both parties want to renew the Import Export Bank which puts American tax payers on the hook for corporate loans for hundreds of billions of dollars. These corporations can get loans from private organizations and don't need this leftover of the New Deal to be renewed. Lobbyists are pushing for it to be renewed because they promise and make good on huge donations to both parties.

Reid and McConnell are on the same page. Note the Republicans have done nothing since they have gotten the majority in both Houses that Harry Reid wouldn't have done if he was still majority leader. Ted Cruz called McConnell out on this very publicly calling him a liar and saying that he and Reid are on the same team. Ted Cruz will now become he target of some of the most vicious political attacks we have yet seen. Real conservatives want what is fair for Americans unlike RINO Repubs and Progressive Dems.

The republicans in the government only want what's best for the rich and corporations. The republican citizens want what is best for the country.

Republicans at least the leadership want what's best for the Republican leadership, which makes them no different than Democrats. Except perhaps they are more realistic about human nature and global affairs.

I would say the majority of Republicans resist the Democrat idea that Law should replace morality. That democrats think we should see how much we need to trade our guns in for knee pads. Smiling as we use those knee pads before our democrat 'superiors'.

See, it has ever been the democrats who want only what is Best for them. Not you and me.

I think the current attitude is more of a "not in my backyard" or "why should I have to" issue. They don't think that being apart of society is to their benefit so why should they pay the taxes, support the local school, clean up MY property to help the local businesses. And they are always looking for someone that must be cheating them such as teachers and poor people.

I think it is paranoia mixed with greed.

Unfortunately, whatever they might want personally, what they do is do what is best for corporations and the wealthy because doing this is necessary for them to get elected.

Republicans in general want a more prosperous and free US, for all law-abiding citizens. The GOP leadership, however, is a corrupt snake pit that earns its crony corporate lapdog image.

The owners of corporations and the wealthy who are Republicans only want what is good for them. Republicans who are just regular middle and lower class folk also want only what is best for the wealthy because they have been programmed by big money from the wealthy corporations to fear and hate.

The freer the market, the freer the people. That's why communist countries never prosper.
