Alien craft sightings are fake.
UFO sightings could be real.
The letter U (in UFO) means Un-identified.
I am certain that many people see things that they cannot identify.
However, to claim that these things are aliens JUST because you can't identify them, shows a very large ignorance of how things work in the universe.
A UFO sighting is NOT an "alien craft" sighting.
In fact, some UFO are definitely human craft sightings, while other are simply natural events that are not understood by the person.
The latter is quite possible. Even I have seen something that I could not identify (at the time). However, I took the trouble to do some research and discovered that what I saw was actually the planet Venus bearing due North (I was in the Arctic).
Distances in the Galaxy are VERY large. If someone takes the trouble to travel all that distance to visit us, you'd think that (by now) they would have found out who runs this planet and they would have contacted the right people to make their presence known.
But, if you need a humorous approach, check out this site:

Both.
Approximately 99% of UFO sightings have earthly explanations, ranging from environmental factors, misinterpretations, and of course hoaxes.
But there is the remaining 1% that cannot be explained away, and where physical evidence seems to point to extraterrestrial involvement. Take for example the Lonnie Zamora incident where a New Mexico State police officer, Zamora, witnessed an egg shaped UFO landing, seeing alien beings, and lifting off.
Now obviously eyewitness accounts needs physical evidence to support the claims, and physical evidence says he did see a UFO, perhaps of alien origin. Namely that the bushes near the alleged landing were seared on one side as if it were hit with a blow torch.
The Alan Godfrey incident. PC Alan Godfrey was beaten badly with a direct kick to the groin that left him unable to father children. Then a UFO encounter later, made love to his wife who then became pregnant... by a man who is no longer able to father children. And a medical exam says he is fully fertile again. Spontaneous regeneration and regeneration of an organ like a testicle, or alien surgical techniques?
The Betty Cash incident. 3 people witnessed a UFO at close range, and all 3 suffering from radiation poisoning, the worst being Betty Cash who suffered the worst of the effects.
PHYSICAL evidence that says beyond a reasonable doubt. This means both finding earthly explanations to physical evidence that can only be literally out of this world.

I saw one once that I can't explain. It was huge, bigger than the moon in the sky, moving back and forth on the far side of my lake. Mufon had it reported to them by a few police officers in my home town. Turns out it was actually about 5 miles away, which means it was a lot bigger than I thought. It might have been hovering over a National Guard armory. It might have been a big balloon of some kind. I don't know.
Anyway, a good rule of thumb is anything that looks small enough to be an aircraft we could build is probably a top secret American aircraft. The really big ones, however, might be the genuine article. The minimum estimated size for an interstellar spacecraft it about size of a football stadium. Even with the super technology required for interstellar travel, something that big would be required to house the kind of power generator needed for star flight.

I reckon more than 99% of reported UFO sightings are either normal objects mis-identified, or outright fakes. As for the few which do seem convincing, it could be that they're alien craft - or it could be that they're of terrestrial origin, eg: secret military aircraft ( in the past, stealth fighters/bombers have been reported as UFOs, while they were still top secret ). So, which seems most likely?

There are no alien craft sightings, only objects with are flying that are unidentified. People leap to a conclusion based on nothing other than their opinion. There is zero evidence of any aliens visiting this planet.

None have given any evidence to prove they were actual sightings of alien craft. Until then they were at best "someone saw something and didn't know what it was."

A mixture of misidentified real objects such as aircraft and lenticular clouds, and deliberate hoaxes.

I would say that they are fake in the opinion of just about anyone with more than two functioning brain cells.
