Wear deodorant at night?

I always have but my husband doesn't and thinks I'm weird. So is it common to wear deodorant at night. Oh and I'm not like an overly sweaty stinko. It's just what I do???

Your right Ms. L, the best time to apply deodorant or antiperspirant is before you go to bed. This applies to men & women alike. If anyone is doing it 'wrong', it would be your hubby..

"Apply your deodorant before bed. Nighttime is the best time to apply deodorant because it won’t be blocked by sweat and it will have plenty of time to do its job more effectively."

"Surprisingly enough, applying your antiperspirant at night is more effective than swiping it on when you first wake up in the morning. At night, your body temperature is cooler, which means you sweat less. While you doze, your sweat glands are therefore more receptive to the active ingredients in antiperspirant, helping it to penetrate more effectively."

" Bedtime application "really is the best way to use an antiperspirant," says David Pariser, M.D., president of the American Academy of Dermatology."

"Apply deodorants at the best time. "Most of these will work best at night," Dee Anna Glaser, MD, a dermatology professor at St. Louis University."

"If you use antiperspirant deodorant, applying it is most likely part of your morning routine. It's much more effective, however, to apply it at night before bed.

Applying your antiperspirant in the morning, particularly right after showering, makes it harder for the active ingredients to get down into your sweat ducts and clog them. In the morning your sweat volume is typically higher than it is at night, and your antiperspirant will wash right off.

The night is the best time for application because your sweat glands are less active and your skin is drier. The effect of the ingredients usually lasts around 24 hours and will remain active when you shower in the morning because the pores will still remain plugged. So, if you haven't already, switch up your daily routine and add antiperspirant to the night shift. If you're not sure of what kind of deodorant to buy, take a look here."

I didn't even notice you wearing deodorant and I agree you never smelled sweaty/stinko. Neither did your husband. You two looked so cute all cuddled up sleeping together.

Strictly personal choice. I prefer to apply it at night so it will be dry and not stain clothing the next day.

A beauty guru I watch did it in her 'night time routine' video, so no, other people do it and it's certainly not weird. :)

Sorry but I am with Bleach on this one, but then I think people generally are over keen on spraying everything.

It's your choice. Women have a keener sense of smell, so do what seems best.
