Can my landlord extend a move out date?!?

Okay so hello, two weeks ago there was some family issues and my sister convinced my mom of taking my name off the lease(I live with just my mom but my sister is very spiteful and will hurt anyone to get what she wants, probably for my mom to move in with her so she can have a babysitter while she goes and gets drunk any ways that's another story) my move out date was the 15th (two days) my mom had told me we're both getting kicked out but she left to LA and hasn't packed anything but picture frames, so my guess is she said that so I can leave, im 19 and I won't have a place to stay but nothing less I want to talk to my landlord and get all the facts straight, if I do have to be out by the 15th, can j ask for an extentsion?!

If your name is on the lease, then you have every right to speak to the landlord. If you are in fact being evicted, you have a minimum of 30 day (60 in some states). And the landlord can give extensions if they so choose.

However if you mom is just doing this to get you out, then she is in for a surprise. She cannot take your name off of the lease without your permission.

Be polite and ask for an extension, they dont have to do it. The other comment of 30 day notice.. thats not always the case, landlords have legal right to issue a 24,48,or 72 hour notice of eviction.

Your landlord has to give you at least 30 days notice for an eviction. It sounds like your mom just made that date up, and doesn't actually have any legal ground to make you leave. I would talk to your landlord.
