What is a way I can get the smell of smoke out of my house?
Something was burning on the stove last week and it filled most of the house with smoke. I took the pot outside, opened the windows, turned on ceiling fans to blow down, and sprayed a little air freshener in each room. It's been 5 days and when I come in from being outside is when I notice some of the smell is still embedded in the house.

Clean the area around the stove. Air out the house every day. The smell will get to be less and less. Humans are very sensitive to the smell of smoke because its a survival skill.

More fans for a few hours and open the windows to blow it out. That little ceiling fan won't cut it at all! I've seen the aftermath of fires and the fire depts brings in huge fans to blow out the smoke. And tons and tons of Febreeze afterward.

Carpet and fabrics will hold the smell. So if you have carpet and upholstered furniture, get it professionally cleaned.
