Can anybody help me fix my buffering problem on Youtube videos?

Whenever I watch a video on Youtube, the video plays for a couple of seconds and then stops to buffer for anywhere between 10-30 seconds before playing the rest of the video with no problem.

Update:

Never mind, guys! Updating Chrome and restarting my computer seems to have done the trick. Thanks for your help, though.

There are a number of things you can try. Some of them are obvious, some subtle, and in the end you will have to decide if they helped or not.

    1. Clear out your browser's temporary internet files. You can press SHIFT + Ctrl + DEL keys.

    2. Run a DISK CLEAN on your computer and get rid of unnecessary files.

    3. Check your internet speed. http://www.speedtest.net/ and compare it with what you actually pay per month. You want at least 500 Kbps in order to decently view your video.

    4. IF you are using a WiFi connection, make sure that you run a speedtest on that as well. If your overall WiFi speed is much slower than your wired connections, then something is wrong. It can be interference from other devices. A weak signal. A bad WiFi network adapter, etc. You can try things like changing your WiFi's router channel number. Do a search in YT on how to improve or boost your WiFi signal.

    5. Change the video quality by going to the gear icon in the corner of the video player, and selecting your preferred quality. While the default is set to "Auto," you can try other settings to see if performance improves.

On mobile devices, adjust quality settings by touching the menu icon, then the gear. This option isn’t available on all devices (e.g. TV/game consoles), or connections (e.g. iOS on a cellular network).

    Good Luck!
