Why do so many people believe climate change isn't real?

The worlds top scientists who have spent their whole life researching the topic are telling us climate change is caused from human activity. Yet an average joe on the street and certain politicians say it's a cycle with absolutely no proof? I think it's horrible we are making this a political party issue.

    YEARS OF RIGHT-WING PROPAGANDA.

It's simple. Big polluters and toxic dumpers hate RULES. When 98% of climate scientists say we need to do something about carbon emissions, big polluters LIE to prevent new regulations based on what the scientists are saying. This might cut into their PROFITS. SO - since they own most Republican politicians, those politicians join them in LYING about climate change.

See, as long as there is still "debate" about it, not much will be done. As long as they say every day on Fox that it's a "theory" and "not proven" and "God works in mysterious ways," nothing will change and the Koch Brothers may continue dumping toxic sludge into your ground water.

The Kochs have even PAID FOR FRAUDULENT COUNTER-STUDIES on climate change. Yeah. Amazing.

I knew we would hear from some like W.T. Door that think climate researchers are corrupt but blindly accept the lies...I mean arguments from the scientists paid for by the fossil fuel industry.

Here are some simple facts. We know that increased carbon levels raise temperatures in the atmosphere. We know this because we understand the chemistry, we can show it in the laboratory, and we have real world evidence, the most extreme example is the planet Venus, which is hotter then the surface of mercury dispite being further from the sun because of the green house gases in its atmosphere.

We know that we have been digging up huge deposits of carbon, burning them which releases carbon that was not part of our ecosystem for millions of years back into the atmosphere. Those deposits are the fossilized remains of organic material which we call coal, crude oil and natural gas; fossil fuels.

We can slow the pace of climate change by reducing the burning of fossil fuels, which the industry which profits from the burning of these fuels has convinced people like W.T. Door has nothing to do with their profit motive and everything to do with scientists seeking grant money. News flash, there is a lot more money in working for the fossil fuel industry as long as you don't have any respect for your professional ethics.

Probably is, but man isn't causing it. Besides you are talking computer projections. The same computers that were predicting all those hurricanes a few years ago. And we didn't get but one or two. Don't be so gullible.

Do you realize that there has been climate change before human activity? How do you explain that?

Humans do have a negligible effect on the climate. But not as much as liberals think. Climate will naturally change more than we can make it.

There is no man made global warming. The earth's average temperatures have moderated for the past 18 years. Scientists are no where near close to collecting enough temperature data.

Only in America. In America it became a political issue because Republicans think that the best way to prevent a Democrat from getting power is continuous attacks on everything about that person.

It's a hoax. Many are deceived and brainwashed and will believe in anything they're told.

Same goes for evolution, billions of years old Earth, Global warming, and overpopulation.

    Liberal education is a doozy.

They're brainwashed by Fox and the rest of the right-wing propaganda machine. It's just a small percentage, population-wise, but they're very loud and obnoxious.

You are correct. It is not only horrible. It is dangerous. Denial of climate change makes it difficult to do anything about it and that is likely to be disastrous.
