No. Sorry, I think the problem goes way beyond failure to listen to any arguments... although that is a massive part of the issue.

I'm a "right-winger" and listen to all arguments from all sides... usually still ending up going with what's on foxnews.

They might listen, but push it into their own worldview of the opposition simply being "wrong", instead of thinking why liberals use such arguments.

I'm listening to you right now. Lol. Also one of my favorite movies is "An American President". Hollywood, newspapers, entertainment weekly magazine.....all give us your point of view.

Yes, they do what they can to stay isolated. But I think the biggest problem with them is that they react out of fear. They are afraid of the world- afraid that everyone is going to try to invade the U.S., afraid that Mexicans are going to take over their jobs, afraid that they are going to be somehow disadvantaged. All that fear and anxiety makes them very cranky.
