How to get used to another language?

I'm learning Italian and I'm trying to get used to listening and understanding it. So far its going great, I guess. I'm watching some videos on YouTube in Italian and setting the language to Italian on my phone and computer and such. Any idea how I can improve my listening skills? Will I just get used to it after watching videos for like a month or so because I feel like I'm not progressing too far. I'm starting to comprehend the words a bit better but sometimes they talk wayyyyy too fast and I'm like "wat..".

After I had been learning French for awhile and had a good amount of vocabulary and grammar learned, and pronunciation down, I started watching cartoons in French. I watch them over and over again for 3 or 4 months to where I could understand them so well, it took no effort on my part anymore. I think adult movies are too complicated, and you need to get the basics down really well, so when you do move to more advanced video, your mind can skip over the basic structures you heard in the cartoons so much, and then focus on the more complex.

I suppose you can find these in Italian, but the best to start off that I have found are: Peppa Pig, Caillou, and The little Einsteins. These 3 stick to simple sentence structures, and are really good for getting started. Once those are down good or if they already are then move to things like "Frozen" or "Tangled" in your target language. Those are good ones. Not super complex, but is higher up. It's good to watch them several times so all the sentence are burned into your brain, and you can listen without much effort. Often things you missed before, come through the 3rd and 4th time around.
